Berries instead of soap? These soapberries are eco-friendly and an alternative for those sensitive to traditional laundry detergents. These berries last for 50 loads!
These dried berries are grown on a tree and come from the Lychee fruit family. When agitated in water, they produce a natural surfactant, saponin, which gently cleanses laundry. They even soften clothes! Soapberries have been used since ancient times for washing by Asian and Native American cultures.
Simply place 4-5 soapberries in the provided cloth bag and toss in the washer with your clothes. Berries can be re-used until paper thin, at least up to 10 times. Clothes come out smelling fresh and clean and super soft.
Use soapberries until they lose their dark, deep color, become paper thin, and are brittle when dry. The soap is in the husk of the shell so pieces are as effective as whole berries.

"Cari Phelps, an award-winning designer and branding expert based in Savannah, dreamed that she designed a package of bath salts for a client with an emphasis on environmental sustainability. When she woke up the next morning, she started doing research and decided to make her dream a reality. She soon learned that Tybee is the Euchee Indian word for salt. This history inspired Cari to develop this natural bath and body care line using the scents of regional botanicals and natural ingredients, including Atlantic sea salt, to create a unique line of bath and body care products. Cari founded Salacia Salts in 2012, armed with a commitment to environmental conservation, natural beauty and holistic health. Under her leadership, Salacia Salts creates top-quality bath and beauty products using environmentally responsible ingredients and packaging. The first product developed for the company, a salt soak, is packaged in reclaimed “upcycled” wine bottles. Salacia Salts uses post-consumer recycled packaging whenever possible with the goal of eliminating plastic from the product line. Educating people about the products they put on their skin is a top priority, including how packaging affects the Earth’s land and seas. Salacia Salts’ products are ideal for people with sensitive skin or looking for healthy alternatives to oils and chemicals found in traditional body care."
